Making PEARLY WHITE SMILE’s a reality

Who doesn’t want sparkling celebrity- like white pearly teeth?

The natural lustre and whiteness of the teeth start to fade away with the passage of time because of a range of factors- ageing, tea, coffee, red wine, certain medications and smoking, to name a few.

While brushing twice a day and flossing keeps your teeth and gums healthy, it doesn’t help improve the natural colour of teeth. Teeth whitening is an easy way to transform aged and discoloured teeth into a brighter, healthier looking smile. It can be a life changer as it adds a spark to your overall personality and a charm that cannot be faded away.

Treatment by experienced professionals and use of technically advanced teeth whitening kits can help brighten your day by whitening your teeth.

How do I go about it?

Schedule an appointment with your dentist for a consult and initial check up before the teeth whitening procedure. This is important to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy enough for this procedure.

Next you’ll have a choice of two teeth whitening methods: In-office whitening and/or take-home trays.

  1. Take-Home Whitening

This involves a dentist taking impressions of your teeth and fabricating specialised custom-made trays made just for you. You’ll be given professional whitening gel and instructions on how to use it.

The benefits of home whitening include:

  • More control over the brightness of your teeth – you can whiten your teeth to the shade that you are happy with
  • It allows for ongoing maintenance – you can maintain your white teeth by using your trays and gel whenever you notice your teeth begin to darken again
  • With  ZOOM IN-OFFICE WHITENING, you can flaunt a smile that’s up to 8 shades whiter in just 45 minutes.Once you get a bill of good dental health from the dentist, an appointment for teeth whitening can be scheduled.

Procedure for Zoom in office whithening-

  • On the day of your appointment, your dentist will begin with an application of vitamin E to your lips. Your gums and lips are covered with a protective barrier and your teeth are coated with whitening gel.
  • The WhiteSpeed lamp or the LED light is positioned near your teeth to quicken the whitening process.
  • The procedure consists of three or four sessions each lasting 15 minutes. For each session, the whitening gel is replaced by a new coating.
  • You will receive a Relief ACP Oral Care gel syringe to relieve any potential tooth sensitivity.
  • It is best to avoid any coloured food items, or beverages such as tea, coffee, red wine for the next 24 hours.

It would be a good idea to bring your earphones and your choice of music along, as you will be in the chair for almost an hour, make the most of it by doing something you enjoy!

The benefits of In-Chair Whitening:

  • Immediate results – you will walk out with whiter teeth
  • The whitening process is carried out by a trained dentist
  • Allows for ongoing maintenance – with the complimentary home-care kit you can easily ‘top up’ the brightness of your smile

Is teeth whitening safe?

When teeth whitening is performed by your dentist, it is a safe and effective treatment with very few side effects. The main side effect is sensitivity which generally only lasts 24 hours and can be managed by your dentist.

Just imagine having a million dollar smile with pearly white teeth- isn’t that amazing? If your dream is to have a dazzling smile, teeth whitening procedures are the next step for you.
